WordSmith Publication Services came into being in 1995 and is based in the United Kingdom in North Cumbria. WordSmith was established to provide a professional document publication service to businesses and industry.
Working for companies in the manufacturing and defence industries, WordSmith has successfully completed publications projects for UK MoD, Army Equipment Support Publications; Alstom T&D on HV maintenance procedures and recording systems and Siemens Transmission & Distribution Ltd. on HV substation control and protection equipment for the National Grid Electric Transmission Co., and Offshore Wind Farm switching, control and protection equipment; Rolls Royce Industrial Power Group (Cochran Boilers Ltd.) on steam raising plant for Bass Breweries, BNFL and Didcot B power station; produced technical manuals and illustrated parts catalogues for automotive and communications and other equipment for customers that supply equipment to the UK MoD.
WordSmith Director, Stuart Smith, is a Fellow of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC), Member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), the Independent Authors Special Interest Group (IASIG) of the ISTC, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Professional Communication Society (PCS).
